Reaching my full potential. Reaching the top. That’s what I want. I didn’t discover the canoe until I was twelve years old. Now, that 3.60 m piece of carbon is pretty much my life. Every day I strive to improve using the power of the white water, flying between the red, green and white poles, chasing the fastest time.
Goals
I want to reach the top in our sport. That is my goal. Getting an Olympic medal while being from The Netherlands, a country where white water is something you can only see on a tv screen. Becoming the first Dutchie to reach this. In 2024 I made the first important step by qualifying for the Paris Olympics were I became 17th of the world. Next goal: The LA Games in 2028!

Because of a spontaneous gift from another Helmond based company, Gielissen, I was able to purchase a brand new boat for the 2023 season. Due to the substantially lighter weight of the boat, that is painted in the Gielissen colors, I can gain valuable time and get closer to the top. In 2024 I was able to buy the newest model, again thanks to a great contribution of Gielissen.
